The choice to be well, regardless of circumstances, is not merely philosophical. It is rooted in our biology. When we maintain states of distress, our bodies divert energy to defense and suspend vital regenerative functions. When we choose wellbeing, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system, enabling cellular repair, immune function, and mental clarity.
We change our minds despite evidence to be distraught, and we reflect this principle in our actions, movements, and relationships.
